Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Emilia-Romagna
Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Emilia-Romagna
1. Aston Martin. A double points finish in that pig of a car, I wasn't expecting that.
2. Yuki Tsunoda. Awesome stuff today, firmly had the measure of Gasly.

1. Lando Norris - great performance, glad to see him where he should be
2. Valtterrii Bottass - I don't remember where the double letters go in his name but what a drive

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Emilia-Romagn
I'll take that and add on Sebastian Vettel. Took advantage of the start, kept things in check even if Tsunoda proved too much and had 20 seconds on his teammate at the flag. Alexander Albon deserves a mention for blocking Gasly and Hamilton battling behind him without DRS.Londoner wrote:2. Yuki Tsunoda. Awesome stuff today, firmly had the measure of Gasly.

(1) Aston Martin - double points finish on merit
(2) Alex Albon - 20 laps fighting off Gasly and Hamilton and finished 11th

1. Lando Norris- kept his head again when others lost there heads.
2 Aston Martin- Where did that come from. I thought they were done with!!! Double points finish
Hm Yuki Tsunoda thrashed Gasly and did some good overtakes
Hm Bottas- Probably would have got 4th without a poor pitstop
Hm Russell. Made Hamilton look really bad today.
Hm Albon. Good clean driving from him and showing up Latifi.

Aston Martin: A fantastic race out of nowhere. Solid points for a team that seemed doomed into oblivion this year.
Norris: I did not have his podium on my bets.

Norris, Bottas and Russell, and Aston Martin.

Norris has to get it for me - if you'd said in Bahrain that a McLaren would get a podium 3 races later.....
Next up would be Bottas - what a shame about his botched pitstop then he could have beaten BOTH Mercedes!

1) Aston Martin: Actually managed a double points finish after a woeful start to the season.
2) Yuki Tsunoda: Decent result after a rather anonymous set of races preceding.

My vote goes to all the drivers who made their teammates look like amateurs today: George Russell, Valtteri Bottas, Kevin Magnussen, Yuki Tsunoda (who was certainly a surprise!), and of course Lando Norris.

Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Emilia-Romagn
Yuki Tsunoda - he seemed like the only driver passing cars when the DRS was enabled and nobody could pass anyone anymore

95 GP / 63 DNF / 5 pts
Re: Infinite Improbability Drive of the Race - Emilia-Romagn
Aston Martin: After a disastrous first few races, they surprised by having both drivers in the points. Maybe they won't finish last after all.
Honorable mention to George Russell for getting a better result than that Mercedes deserved.

1: Aston Martin: After the Australia omnishambles I wasn’t expecting them to do this. When everyone switched to dries I thought “Ok the Green tortoises will fall away now” but instead there was barely any stage where either car looked like falling out of the points.
2: Yuki Tsunoda: Similarly when he was holding up that long line of traffic I was worried at his lack of pace. If this had been last year he’d have certainly tangled with Stroll in that duel or thrown it off himself in desperation. Instead he broke away and produced a fine run to 7th while also making one of the few DRS passes in the race
HM’s
George Russell: Continues to perform above and beyond what that car is showing right now
Lando Norris: If you’d said to me he’d be on a podium after McLaren’s shocker in Bahrain I’d have laughed

1. Sebastian Vettel - Q3, solid racing in the sprint and solid racing here. Great stuff
2. Yuki Tsunoda - Great haul of points and outclassed Gasly in the race.

1) Aston Martin. First points of the season just one race after their disastrous Australian GP.
2) Lando Norris. Perfectly took advantage of both Ferraris retiring/falling behind. Drove the best race he could with the car given.
HM: George Russell and Valtteri Bottas: Both scored very good points for their teams and made the last few laps a little more entertaining.

1. Aston Martin: I, like everyone else, did not expect a double points finish
2. Yuki Tsunoda: He had the advantage over Gasly all weekend. Good job.

As the website was down, we ran voting for ROTR and IIDOTR on our Discord. However, we have counted up the votes and written for you a lovely race report about the highs and lows at Imola! Read it here.
