So F1 thought it might be an idea to have a livery launch event at London's O2 Arena (still known to me as the Millennium Dome) on Thursday 18th February 2025. Many comments I have seen so far point out that it is only liveries being launched, and not actually any cars. And ticket prices are from £50 to £110.

However, if there are a few forum members who want to make a field trip of it and have a meet up around the event (or maybe even just loiter around the O2 Dome and go to a pub/restaurant), I would be happy to try to organise a shindig meet-up.
Thoughts?

Re: F1 livery launch event
It has to be said that quite a few of the car launches in recent years have tended to be more of a livery reveal than revealing the car, unless they happen to be holding the event at a track and having the shakedown event immediately afterwards.dr-baker wrote: ↑13 Nov 2024, 18:59 So F1 thought it might be an idea to have a livery launch event at London's O2 Arena (still known to me as the Millennium Dome) on Thursday 18th February 2025. It sounds like the tickets might be a bit more expensive in practice though - the base price for the cheapest tickets is £50, but when you add in the additional booking fees and transaction fees, it seems that rises to £58 (the next tier up looks like it'd be £85 in total, and the most expensive would be £113 once the additional fees are added on top).

Rumour Alert!!!!!
I'm not sure I 100% belive it as true, but I can definitely understand sponsors buying a big chunk of tickets for promotions and bigwigs, whilst teams would get some for promotions, attracting new deals, etc....
EDIT: apparently a lot got sold in an American Express pre-sale, kinda proving my point above of big business promotion.

Whilst it sounds like there were some tickets that went to business interests, the article on The Race website states that only a small percentage had been reserved for those purposes, with the bulk of the tickets being offered to the public. The figures quoted in that post seem to come from mostly unverified and dubious sources, so I would treat them with a healthy dose of scepticism.dr-baker wrote: ↑16 Nov 2024, 00:30 Rumour Alert!!!!!

It does sound as if ticket touts buying up tickets to re-sell them has been an issue though, as has been the case for quite a few concerts and similar events in recent years. There are reports that quite a few tickets seem to have been pushed onto the ticket resale market, and they've already been issuing warning that tickets bought second hand won't be accepted, so it seems that scalping has been playing it's part.

If its anything like massive stadium shows over here in the US, resellers will buy 60%-80% of them. Look at StubHub, CheapSeats, etc. and find loads of tickets.....for 3x the face value plus fees.
