Pre-Season Testing Thread

Post by Wallio »

Early Reject of Testing to F1TV themselves for forcing us to listen to the Sky crew in the early session. It took exactly 37 minutes only for that muppet Kravitz to go on a long rambling diatribe about Christian Horner that had exactly 0 to do with the car on track and on-screen at the time (Lewis in the Ferrari). We know Christian has a wandering eye (allegedly). Did he steal Ted's girl years ago? Only reason I can think of for such consistently sad, high school-like whining. But hey, at least they spent loads of time explaining what an aero rake does (because obviously, the uber hardcore fans who watch bloody testing wouldn't know) and getting when Spain is wrong (it's Round 9 in June, not Round 6 in April Ted.)

Anyway, the cars look good on track, they have converged into one or two pretty obvious development paths, but are still fairly unique within those parameters. We also have 6 compounds now, as the Ultrasoft returns for the street circuits. And there is rain, rain! forecasted for tomorrow.

Me either Jolyn, maybe that's why we're both out, eh?

Testing always brings more questions than answers, and this year is no different. Ferrari’s switch to pull-rod suspension is a bold move that could pay off if they get it right. McLaren’s cooling experiments are interesting, especially if they plan to adjust based on track conditions. This article breaks down all the key tech updates by the teams including Red Bull’s latest front-wing developments. With so many teams balancing 2025 performance with 2026 development, it will be fascinating to see what actually makes it to the first race.
