2022 Alternate Super Formula - CONFIRM NOW!

It's time for Super Formula 2022!

Ukyo Sasahara won the championship on his first try for Red Bull Mugen Team Goh, holding off Mitch Evans who took 4 pole positions in 2021. The 25-year-old, who had several years of GT500 experience before that, will therefore be defending the #1 this season. Mugen however narrowly missed out on the teams' title as quite surprisingly KCMG, with a very strong lineup of Akira Yamamura and Álex Palou took the reins after leading the championship for most of the season and held off Mugen by two points.

TEAM CHANGES
NISMO, in anticipation of the new regulations for 2023, are entering a single car part-time this season with Shinobu Katayama and Kevin van Kerckhoven doing three rounds each and with Nissan joining as a third engine supplier in 2023, will then be running two cars of its own.

Team Goh has left Team Mugen, originially to set up its own team, however due to possible restrictions on engine supply have instead decided to partner with ARTA. The subsequent partnership will be thus known as ARTA Team Goh, with Autobacs owning the #55 seat and Red Bull, following Ukyo Sasahara's championship, have decided to sponsor the #53 entry. This has no impact as for Sasahara himself, with the new champion being tied to Red Bull for the foreseeable even if he stays with Mugen.

Team LeMans announced a deal which saw ROOKIE Racing join as a technical partner, with the team name now being Team LeMans with ROOKIE.

RULE CHANGES
The main rule changes for 2022 don't play a role with team management but rather the series format itself. Qualifying will now be split into two parts instead of three, with Q1 becoming a 30-minute session with a maximum count of 10 laps per car. The top 10 cars from Q1 will then advance into a 10-minute shootout for pole position in Q2.

CALENDAR CHANGES
The only change will be that Suzuka Circuit will replace its East layout with its full course for Round 2 of the season, it'll otherwise be the same 10 rounds as in 2021.

CAR REGULATIONS
This is the final season of the Dallara SF19 package, with Honda and Toyota joined by Nissan from 2023 onwards as the Dallara SF23 is about to be unveiled at some point in 2022.

The tyres are supplied by Yokohama. All cars use the Advan series of tyres, with soft, hard, intermediate and full wet tyres available. In every dry race, there is a mandatory stop for refueling and tyre changes, and all cars must use both the hard and soft compound of tyre. The pace differential between the soft and hard compounds is estimated to be ±0.7 seconds per lap, depending on the track.

From 8th to 6th, obviously Bentley Team Kahama's pursuit of 4th will happen under my hand.

I am also going to go ahead and offer the services of Alberto Cara to any team that won at least one race last season.
Other drivers of mine available for hire: Tomo Kazama and Zaituni Dileita.

Edit: one has already been signed

Unless our absent managers return from their sabbaticals, I am ready to jump from the waiting list into the drivers seat.

2019 South American F4 runner-up 🇦🇮 Aria Hevel is interested in a drive for any team here.
🇦🇹 Team Bert Anderwald, 🇬🇧 Aston Martin, 🇺🇲 Stanley-Goodridge, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 TLDR, + more

It would be funny if FortiWinks resurfaced only to find out that I'm the Forti in town now.
