It amuses me that he was also a two-time race winner, and because of shared driving, was both second and third place in the 1955 Argentine Grand Prix.

It's quite simple, (it takes around 2 minutes per race to put it on Excel), but very time-consuming, especially noting the results here and doing the all-time standings. I'll be doing another alternative championship at the end of my current medals one, but I'll let you guys guess what's going to change

but except for ligier, all drivers in the top 10 are pretty good actually...
simply because these drivers drove more races than others, in the seventies and eigthies that trend might change, and who knows which driver might surprise us.

With Siffert and Bonnier now done with F1 (I don't like to talk about death), it will take a very long time for anyone to get them. the closest active driver at that point is de Adamich, but his career ends at Silverstone in 1973. Behind him, Beltoise and Hill still have some rejectful seasons left, but I doubt they'll catch up. We'll have to wait and see (I don't know either).

Italian hopeful who took part in 36 GPs, with 29 starts. He was a promising talent, scored a couple of 4ths, and had the distinction of racing with his glasses on. His career ended in Silverstone 1973, as he broke a leg in the famous first corner shunt caused by Scheckter.
He started off with Ferrari in 1968, retiring on his debut before being fired immediately (that was in 1968).
He came back in 1970 for McLaren at its most rejectful, scoring 5 DNQs and an 8th as a best result, before on-and-off appearances for March in 1971.
He signed for Surtees in 1972, helped by his Ceramica Pagnossin sponsorship, and scored a 4th in Spain.
He missed the first 2 races of 1973, before coming home in 8th in the South African GP, getting him fired, but joining Brabham the race after, and scoring another 4th place in Belgium, before his shunt in Silverstone. Nevertheless, he finished 16th in the Championship that year.

I thought that Gould was the driver to be lapped the most since I discovered his "46-lap down" feat, well I've been proven wrong yet again, as in the 1972 Canadian GP, Skip Barber was lapped a whopping 56 times, and didn't retire.

Although I am pretty sure that his car was in the pits for a long long time, getting fixed and he went back out to do finish the Canadian GP, so was lapped in the pits rather then on the track. Although he was not the quickest guy, failing to qualify in Monaco in 1971 (although Mario Andretti in a Ferrari also failed to qualify), was 10 laps down in the Dutch GP (NC but not in last place of the runners), Retired in the Canadian GP, 7 laps down in the US GP (NC and still not in last place) and got his best result of 16th in the 1972 US GP (although he was last of the runners for this one).

Maybe we should find out for definate who was lapped the most whilst still on the track without being lapped for having a mechanical failure of some kind.

Great posts btw, I am really looking forward to the 80s and early 90s.

I can't give any hints, because I'm posting this as I go along. I don't think Siffert, let alone Bonnier, will be caught until at least the end of 70's.
