BATracer

Post by Captain Hammer »

This isn't a plug, but rather me wondering whether anyone here plays this game. The reason I'm asking is because if there's enough interest, I'm thinking of starting a lose-to-win series - where the objectiv is to retire as often as possble - based on F1 Rejects, so we'll have an F1 grid made up of the likes of Taki Inoue, Jean-Denis Deletraz et al, all racing to see who can retire the most.

I Play there......

You're idea is rather Old, there is actually a group who do the same thing on a regular basis with the Champcar Carset......

However, if there are enough people here,we could start an F1 Rejects Clan.....

I play BATracer as well, and in fact even participated in one of those lose to win series, though I failed miserably at it. I do like your idea of an F1 Rejects Clan, though, Fitch.

I played this about a year ago, but got bored with playing only the F12007 and BTCC, because I was one race win short from advancing to the "Pro" level (or whatever it was called) to unlock more racing series. But I might as well start this again if we get a F1Rejects clan up.

It'll have to wait a few days because I currently own a clan game to test out the DTMs, but I'll start one up and post here.

Actually, there's half a dozen: Total Mayhem, Zero-Point League, Formula None, and so on.

I actually played this game since... June 07 (I think) and I have a well earned reputation of one of the unluckiest guys on BATracer.

Haha, a lotta Batters here :D
I too play it, been part of those lose to wins, and one guy even started a "f1 rejects" game, but it never got anywhere.
But if you wanna start a lose to win, count me in. Look at my nick and figure out my name there ;)

oh I forgot to mention that I gave up on BATracer a few months ago to focus more on my school.
Still if there is going to be an F1 rejects clan then I'm all for it... maybe I can relive the days when I was thrashing everyone in the championship with a 08 BMW but lost it in the last 2 races after scoring only 8 points in the 2nd half of the season... that's how crap my luck on BATracer.

I stopped playing about five months ago because I was fed up of the game not functioning properly on my computer. It's the same glitch every time - I play for between one and three months and then the game will stop loading anything after I've logged in. It makes the game unplayable and I've had to find better things to do with my time :(

It's especially annoying because I'm a Pro driver with Kool Tools...

Definately jumping on this bandwagon. Been playing for years, never any good, but they have a most excellent 1997 carset, featuring.... da-daah! Mastercard Lola! 8 seconds off the pace seems accurate :p Only incentive to race as them is because they're blindingly fast in the wet.

F1 Rejects clan has been created, we need 10 members to become "active"....

Do a search in Clan Search and it should pop-up..if not then send an In-Game PM to me..Jason Fitch and I'll get you in....I will also post in the BAT forums later.......

I've been playing it for ages now and still haven't won a title! I seem to be very unlucky but I do enjoy it most of the time. I'd love there to be more older F1 carsets though.

I won't join the clan as I'm very happy with the clan I'm in and have to stay loyal to them, though if it ever breaks up for any reason then I'll know where to head!

I've been playing off and on since 2003, when the current version was still in Alpha testing mode.

I've gotten better in the past year or so, except I'm real unlucky. I nearly won a BTCC title recently (which would have been my first at pro level), only to have my strategy quit working at Knockhill.

Oh. I would join the F1 Rejects clan that was created, but I'm a part of Genki and I'm not leaving them and I can't get another account currently....

Okay, the game has been created! We're doing the 2006 F1 season (because I've never really done it before). These are the rules:

- This is a lose-to-win series. You must retire as often as possible.
- You MUST do your qualifying runs. If you wipe out, that's okay, but you can't elect to not do them.
- Your name must be the name of an F1 Reject.

The game ID is 42597 and the password is "Up In Smoke".

Because there's not many of us, I'd like you to start your own team until I saw otherwise. Car performance doesn't count for much in lose-to-win events; you have an equal chance of crashing in a Ferrari as you do an Aguri. SO PLEASE DO NOT JOIN A TEAM THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN MADE!
Fitch wrote:Hammer, I joined and between switching from BAT and here to get the Password, I inadvertently joined under my own name.......Do you know if there is a way for me to change my name in game without going into holiday mode and rejoining?

There is. At the YOUR DESK screen, it should say "Playing as Jason Fitch [Edit]" under the current event and number of competitors. Go to Edit, and you can change your name through that at any time because it's a private game (you can't do it in public games).

Alright, which one of you dumb-arses didn't listen to what I said?

I specificially told you NOT to join a team that had already been created. The idea was that because there are only a handful of people from the forums, we'd have single-car teams until each team had been created and then we'd start filling up the teams. But now I see that someone has ignored what I said and gone and joined Midland. Since I'm not know for my patience - and will probably be away for the next few days - I've decided I'm going to delete the game. I might make it again when I get back, but given my present mood and peoples' inability to listen to instructions, I'll tell you now that it's very unlikely.

Sorry for the bump, but I went on BATracer today and I saw this message.

BATracer Unavailable Until Further Notice

BATracer is presently unavailable due to legal issues following receipt of a letter this morning (2nd November 2009) concerning user-submitted Ferrari content within BATracer. Efforts are being made to resolve this issue and to restore the site at the earliest opportunity following changes.

The ability to further upload user-submitted content for inclusion in the game has been disabled until further notice.

Yes not cool.

Is it just me or does the message from Ferrari sound like they want ALL Ferrari content removed from batracer, user created or not. If that's what they are doing then that is another reason to hate Ferrari.

I've always stuck up for Ferrari in the past when most people in this country are staunchly pro-McLaren (not me!) as I've been a fan since I started watching F1 but this is totally ludicrous. Have they got nothing better to do? Like, erm, designing a new car or something?

Update (4th November 2009): The website is expected to return within approx. the next 24 hours.

It appears the site will be back up soon, but I don't know whether the Ferrari name will be off the site from now on.
