And I have GT2 but I wait for the next "season".

It might be handy to get some practice in, if you're thinking of participating in the future. Even if you can't win this season, there's always room to improve your technique, knowledge of tracks, cars, etc.

Out of curiosity: is TVR Cerbera Speed 12 allowed? Because, while it's massively powerful, it's still classified as a "Road Car", can be bought as green and has all the same upgrades available that any other normal car has. Because I don't want to spend almost 300k for something that gets disqualified in the end.

E: Nevermind, after further reading the topic, I found out that the only limitation is the green colour.

Word for the wise:
Learn to fly. That way, the car won't surprise you when it literally takes off (unless you're driving very slowly...).

Yeah, I noticed. It's currently more like a green, noisy, V12-engined wingless Cessna than a sports car. I have to really adjust my style.

The Lamborghini Murcielago that I used was very hard to control, but probably not as hard to control as the TVR, which I probably would have used if I didn't already have it in Reflex Purple. I don't know how many attempts I had - I can assure you it was a lot - but I spun out on all of them. Settled with the lap where I spun on the sweeping corner after that long straight, simply because I couldn't be bothered setting a faster time.

A tip for anyone else playing GT5: If you're thinking of buying the Lamborghini Murcielago, don't. Try something else that's green (I think there was a green Audi R8 5.2 V10 that I saw after I bought the Lambo).

That's why I decided to go for an XJ220 instead. That and the fact I already had a Speed 12, and it was modded past the regulations.

After a good two hours of driving, I've decided to call it a day. On my best lap I only spun once and drove on the grass for a couple of times, which is pretty good considering my lack of skill at Nürburgring (I've usually let the B-Spec driver do the Nurby races).

I just sent my time; I´ve tried four different cars, and in the end I decided to keep the TVR. I really had to adjust my driving style. It´s still a very driveable and enjoyable car, but you need to understand how this car works in order to obtain a good lap time. I only made one mistake on going into the grass during my lap; if not I think I would be able to save around 4 seconds off the total, but the nearest I got was 3 secs from my PB; and after trying lots I think I came up with a nice lap time. If I happen to score the best time I´ll gladly explain the secret to the TVR

I managed to further improve my time; but going to stop there... Again, I lost control of the car just once, but drove faster in general so I tackled 4 seconds off my previous time. I know it can be done around 10 secs faster than I did if you manage a perfect lap; and I could do around 4 secs faster as the ghost I was racing against did a section faster than me...

I have thought about an interesting scenario for the closure of this season (which is some races away, so don't worry) but I fear it might not be too popular since it would take quite long, so I am going to ask directly: how much time would you be willing to invest in the game?

Can it be the Mercedes CLK Touring Car too? It can only be achieved with a Gameshark code, but essentially it is the same car. (And uses the same very high rev engine too) Just asking if someone thinks about using that.

On most school days, just 30-45 minutes. On weekends and Wednesdays, it can go from 2 to 5 hours.

Man, I had no idea. I thought under 7 minutes/7m30s would have been impossible in anything but a race car. And I thought I had gone for a competitive car with a competitive time. I suck.

I expected I had done a good time but never win by so much advantage. As i said before, the TVR is a hard car to drive, but is very, very quick once you adapt into it. I too like the agressive driving style of diving into the corners and braking at the same time, but the lack of downforce of the TVR makes this an impossible task. Instead you have to go for a very smooth driving if you want success; You need to brake while going straight, and then dive into the corner, if you don´t do this the right way you´ll find a nasty understeering at the entrance of the corner. The brutal power of this car also means you can´t push very early at the exit as it will mean more understeer.

The brakes are also worse than in other cars, add to that the fact that it reaches great speeds in a very short period of time and you´ll find it a very hard machine to drive, but the secret is in the smoothnes. Oh, and doing around 20 laps at the Nurburgring until you know every single corner helps too; altghough it takes way longer to learn than a normal track, it really pays off once you get all the braking points right and all the corners you can attack and which you can´t. The extra difficulty factor is that the car is undriveable if you step one wheel into the grass, but the amazing power and top speed pays for it if you keep it on the black side.

I think this - and the fact that Klon didn't get my green car joke :cry:

- is why I shouldn't bother participating in this. I don't have the time and/or skill needed for that but in any case well done, you clearly picked the right car for the track and drove it very well.

I may or may not participate in this from now on, I'm back at uni and this is the final stretch for my degree so not sure if I'll have time for this now.

GT5. First championship I competed in, I lost because I managed to roll a very underpowered car in a very tight corner at a very low speed.

Dammit, there's something wrong with my thumb. After around ten laps the base of my thumb started hurting so much that I eventually had to take a 15 second break every 15 seconds or so. But I could still take the Astra for a quite good spin, if you ask me.

Regarding how much I can spend on GT4 daily: around 2-3 hours, especially if I'm not exercising that day (going to shed a few kilos off my waist) and if my thumb and palm won't start hurting too much.
