Outside of points Alternative Championship

Post by FullMetalJack »

Basically points will be awarded from just outside the points, for 2010, it would mean 11th to 20th. I can already guarantee that Michele Alboreto will win the championship in 1992 with a Mansell-esque performance. I will not be including Indy 500 results or points for fastest lap, and also, all results will count towards the championship. Points will be shared evenly for shared drives.

Oh, GREAT idea!!! Look forward to seeing 80s to date!!!

(By the way, what will you do for races like Detroit '84 and USA '05 where anyone who finished scores points)? :?

USA GP 2005 - We'll give points in the qualification order, excluding the first six, so Trulli will win that one.
Attrition races - Reversed retirement order? Who retired last will be ahead who retired before. OR there will be "No finishers!"

Take the first retirement from outside of the points (ie. if four cars were classified, count from the third later retirement, who would have finished 7th) and give points from there down.
Go home, Bernie Ecclestone!

I've decided nobody gets points then, it's been the case already in a few races.
