F1Rejects on IRC?

Post by DonTirri »

As I waste another rainy evening sitting on my computer, I start to wonder.

does anyone here use IRC? it'd be a great tool for community communication, if we have any IRC'ers here, to establish our own channel somewhere like Quakenet or ircnet etc.

So, the question is: Do we got irc'ers and if we do, is there interest in an f1rejects channel?

and if you don't know what IRC is... Wikipedia is your friend.
I got Pointed Opinions and I ain't afraid to use em!

BTW, thats Räikkönen with two K's and two N's. Not Raikonnen (Raikkonen is fine if you have no umlauts though)

IRC is the one piece of technology on earth I cannot fathom.

Tbh it's not like I'm losing anything, IRC was basically invented so people could flame each other in a public environment.

In other words, no.

It would die a painful, swift and unpleasant death. Probably.

I used it some 10 years ago or so. I honestly thought it had become extinct by now.

Oh oh does this mean there'll be a F1 Rejects Peugeot Sport team with Stephane Sarrazin driving and me in the other car? I always wanted to race for F1 Rejects :D

Yeah, I IRC, but I don't think there would be enough demand for a dedicated F1 Rejects IRC channel.

We will, just on twitter. Or Tumblr, for that matter.

I've heard of twitter and fakefacebook but what on Earth is wordpress? I didn't know what IRC was before this thread (other than than the previously posted rally championship) and now I discover Tumblr and wordpress. Whatever next, omegle?

I disaprove of omegle. Their tag-line is "Talk to strangers!", which is something mum always said is a no-no.

Didn't say I approved of it. Just that the internet can be a big scary place and I will stick to the places with which I am familiar, like a website made by two non-professionals on the other side of the world from myself.

Absolutely. I'm into blogging, so I needed a tool. Wordpress and Tumblr provided the tools I required.

Oh, I use IRC. It's one of my favourite methods of contacting other people, so, sure, if anyone ever creates it... Btw, I seem to remember there was a chat feature on the site, but I was the only one using it. :(

Oh, I did use IRC a couple of months ago until the Finnish gaming clan, where I was a long-standing member, collapsed. But if enough people would join the #f1rejects channel, I'd definitely be among those to hang around.

Well, I like hanging around (half)empty channels anyway so if you ever find yourself on IRC, just connect to Quakenet and join #f1rejects
