So I did a quick check on the Metoffice website, and there's potentially rain. Seeing as the last few days have poured down, this is believable.

They only moved the race to April in the first place because they wanted rain. They got the rain alright but all it did was turn anything that wasn't tarmac into a mud pit. And the race was bone-dry anyway :lol:

With this problem apparently cured, how long into the race will we have to wait until the latest McLaren pitstop cock-up? I guess this time one of the hapless pair will drive off with the rear jack still on the car, ala Johnny Herbert in Spain 1995. :lol:

I think Silverstone had a double DRS zone last year. I know it was definitely used on the Wellington Straight, but I can't remember if it was used on the Hanger Straight.

No, there was only one DRS zone in use last year, and that was along the Wellington Straight. I think that your confusion comes from the fact that the previous two races, in Valencia and Canada, both had double DRS zones, but the FIA decided that only one zone would be necessary for Silverstone.

These things happen from time to time, sadly. I wouldn't be in no mood for a race even if a driver was killed. It sounds cold but for me the best way to pay homage to a driver is a nice, exciting, clean race.

There has been a lot of rain overnight, and I mean a lot. Some places had a month's worth in 9 hours. Currently it's still raining here in Banbury, so I'd imagine it's a similar picture up at Silverstone. Looks pretty much set in for the day to be honest.

Caterham have brought loads of updates to Silverstone. Virtually whole new back end.

Caterham have brought loads of updates to Silverstone. Virtually whole new back end.

I'm under the impression that Kovalainen's using the updates while Petrov's using the old spec rear end.

And THAT is a physical representation of the gulf between HRT, Sauber and Red Bull. Clos, Perez and the Red Bull duo all had the rear end break away at that very spot and out of all those, Clos was the only one to spear off.

You know, I actually like that shade of blue on the Red Bull much more than the normal shade.
