Repost from the 1979 thread:

A first calendar draft for 1980:

1. Argentine GP (Buenos Aires)
2. Brazilian GP (Interlagos)
3. United States West GP (Long Beach)
4. South African GP (Kyalami)
5. Belgian GP (Spa-Francorchamps or Zolder)
6. Moncao GP (Monaco)
7. French GP (Circuit Paul Ricard)
8. British GP (Brands Hatch)
9. Swedish GP (Mantorp Park)
10. German GP (Hockenheim)
11. Austrian GP (Österreichring)
12. Swiss GP (Dijon-Prenois)
13. Dutch GP (Zandvoort)
14. Italian GP (Monza)
15. Canadian GP (Montreal)
16. United States East GP (Watkins Glen)
17. Japanese GP (Suzuka)

Also, three rule changes for 1980:

1) Reintroduction of entry fees:
An entry fee of 10 000 credits per car and race will be introduced.

2) Change of budget cap rule:
Instead of 2.4 million per quarter, the budget cap is increased by 600 000 credits after each race, starting at 2.4 million for the off-season.

3) As I said a while back in the 1979 thread, each team may only express interest in a maximum of 5 Tier 1 sponsors, 8 Tier 2 sponsors and 12 Tier 3 sponsors.

Arrows are still in the game and after disapointing 1979 season we are hoping to climb up the ladder once again.

Is there any changes in sponsors or they will stay the same (and in the same tier) as last year? Additionally if you have signed a sponsor in 1979 will there be an advantage in the RNG to resign it?

I'll post the sponsor list and everything else shortly after the 1979 Japanese GP has been run.

BMW is looking to supply our full alottment of 6 teams with what was without question the best motor of 1979. We hope to continue on with all of our current teams, except for Kaushen, but that's all for the negociation phase.

A formula 2 team who merged with McLaren in real-life. But as McLaren is very successful in this alternate universe, the merger didn't make sense, so they entered F1 on their own.

More competition for making races, well as long as they are less competitive than Boro. ;)

The sponsor list can now be found in the first post. Please keep in mind that you can only express interest in up to 5 tier 1 sponsors, 8 tier 2 sponsors and 12 tier 3 sponsors.

Works teams can take 4 500 000 credits from their manufacturer instead of a tier one sponsor.

Apartheid. The Rebaque team was disgusted with what they saw and are boycottng the GP. We urge FISA to go to Dubai or Australia or just to cancel the race.

We are not messing politics with sport so we are against boycotting Kyalami.

As for sponsors, Arrows is still a top team, so we are aiming top sponsors:

Tier 1
Marlboro
elf:
Martini
John Player Special
Gitanes

Tier 2
Agip
Elf
Leyland
Marlboro

Boro will express their desire to not bring ugly politics into the sport and will race at Kyalami. Though if other teams wish to boycott then more power to them as it gives us a better chance of making the race. 8-)

Apartheid. The Rebaque team was disgusted with what they saw and are boycottng the GP. We urge FISA to go to Dubai or Australia or just to cancel the race.

Ah, that makes sense. Being only an engine supplier, BMW will leave the decision up to our teams, whoever they might be IN 1980. Although that being said we are against the horrors of apartheid. But if our teams want to race, we race!

While we desire to run as a competitive outfit, Ensign will not abide the apartheid in any way possible. We join the boycott against the South African government.
