Mornington Crescent is a well-known game played on the BBC Radio 4 panel show I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue, where players try to navigate around the London Underground to get to the titular tube station.
This version will be called Montreal Crescent, with the aim of getting to Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix via other events on the F1 calendar.
Let's start from Albert Park, Melbourne.

Re: A new off-season game for 2024/5
Sorry, how exactly will this work? I'm guessing we just pick the next closest track to Melbourne as the next 'stop', but is it only for tracks that were on the 2024 calendar, or can we pick any GP track from any previous calendar? What about rumoured or cancelled GP tracks?
Assuming we can pick historic circuits, I'll go ahead and say Sepang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. (Just going straight over the Pacific is for boring nerds, IMO )

Well, I assume you're not familiar with the original game of Mornington Crescent? This game is more fun if you don't know the rules inside out. It makes the tactics for variations of the game easier.Salamander wrote: ↑22 Dec 2024, 11:48 Sorry, how exactly will this work? The idea is to create a coherent calendar using whatever makes the most sense to you and which you can justify. Historical tracks are allowed, as long as you think there could be the required finance to bring them up to scratch (the Bernie Ecclestone rule set) or the political will (the Liberty rule set). Rumoured and cancelled races are also allowed, so long as there was a realistic possibility that the race could viably happen.
Your move is valid. Going on from your move, and to show what move is possible, the next move is to Rockingham in the British Midlands. After two flyaway races, the teams need to rebuild and regroup, so it's back to Europe. And Rockingham already had a licence for F1 testing. The owners of Rockingham noticed that nearby tracks Silverstone and Donnington have previously had Grands Prix (both had races both pre-F1 championship and championship races), and not to be outdone, put in a bid for a race. Another undisclosed race pulled out, so Rockingham was put into its place.

It might help to add the Wikipedia article about it, because it might help explain a lot: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morningto ... ent_(game)Salamander wrote: ↑22 Dec 2024, 11:48 Sorry, how exactly will this work?
