That was easier than I thought it would be.

No it wasn't, it's just that I was there (working in F3000) and I remember hearing it.

Well, no ther moderator has ever taken care of this little fact either
Maybe they thought that a well subscribed thread which is not necessarily about either current or historic F1 belonged in probably the most popular/accessed forum. Senna Movie, Caption This, Panderbox, Ponderbox, Rantbox, (& sundry other threads) are not necessarily about current F1 either.
Anyways, here's an easy question to re-activate this thread which has been a bit dormant since moving.
As well as Ascari, which other F1 driver put a car in the harbour at Monaco?

Easy. Paul Hawkins.

Couldn't remember the driver's name, but I do know that both drivers died on the same date several years apart...

True: 26th May. 1955 & 1969. Both having survived their Monaco accidents.

Thanks for confirming, eagleash!

When the Jordan cars were showed at Phoenix for round 1 of the 1991 season, being the team in its rookie season, Alan Henry made a remark about the car that really caught the attention of Eddie Jordan. So much so, in fact, that he was offering a deal to Henry about it. Now, what was the remark about, and in what did the deal consist?
Or a sponsor? I think I read something very similar in an F1 Racing mag this year, as it's 20 years since their debut season
Miserable Thierry (Boutsen) staggers round mostly on ten cylinders (out of 12) with no clutch, low oil pressure, bad brakes and no grip to finish tenth, 3 laps down...
(Murray Walkers review of Boutsen's Brazil 1991 race).
The Green livery was quite like the cover design colour of MotorSport Magazine for whom Henry was writing at the time.

A clue: This sponsor is CURRENTLY involved in Formula 1, in a small but large way.
(If you know the answer you will understand!!!)

Another clue (hope Phoenix dont mind!) The First Grand Prix of the 1991 season was at Phoenix, USA, so there is a huge huge chance that this backer would come from the States.

I think it goes the line that Henry saw the blueis similar to the AT&T blue, and he did comment that to Eddie Jordan. Jordan asked Henry to chase that potential sponsor to no avail.
Current F1 sponsor in a small but large way.
AT&T is the title sponsor of Williams, yet gets little space on the car!

In 1995, three drivers finished in the points in all the races they completed. Who were they?
Who scored their first career points at Germany 1995 for 5th place?
Whose car burst into flames on the slow-down lap of the same race?
Who was the driver Jenson Button overtook with only a handful of laps left at Brazil 2000 for 7th place? ( which became 6th after a disqualification ahead of him)?
Which driver was DQ'd from 6th place at Australia 2000, handing Zonta his first F1 point?
Why did the Sauber team pull out of Brazil 2000?
Enough for now. Someone will probably answer these pretty easily l

I could have sworn Schumacher scored points in every race he finished in 1995 as well as the three mentioned - his lowest finish IIRC was 5th in Canada after he was delayed. He was on the podium in all the others, or retired.
"Poor old Warwick takes it from behind all throughout this season". (Tony Jardine, 1988)
I think he was classified in Hungary despite retiring with a few laps to go.

Hector Rebaque driving a Rebaque HR100?

Now, this one is a little trickier - is it Silvio Mosler in a Bellasi F1-70?
Martin Brundle, on watching a replay of Grosjean spinning: "The problem with Grosjean is that he want to take a look back at the corner he's just exited"

Hector Rebaque, Lotus 79. It's not the Rebaque HR100 because it's the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. To be fair, they were very similar, mechanically and aerodynamically.

Silvio Moser, Bellasi. Not sure where. The number is odd, very high. Is it in a hillclimb, by any chance?

Correct!
