Here's my entry.

The lap would begin where the black dot marker is, on the A1231 St Michaels Way, with the opposite carriageway functioning as the pit lane. The track kinks to the right slightly as the cars speed down to turn 1, crossing to the opposite carriageway and taking the roundabout the wrong way round to head on to Stockton Road. Turn 2 then follows quickly after, a sweeping right hander with the cars building acceleration to head onto the straight that follows. A kink to the left is next, with the track heading the wrong way down the one-way system, before they heavy braking for the left-handed hairpin of turn 3. That brings the track on to Burdon Road, with a short straight followed by the 90 degree right hander of turn 4. The circuit is now on Park Road, with Mowbray Park on the left hand side, and on the long straight that follows, sector one is completed at the one mile marker.

Sector two then begins as the road becomes Salem Road, and the track curves gently to the right for turn 5, which is followed by more heavy braking, this time for turn 6, White House Hairpin. Hooking round to the left, past the roundabout, the circuit now follows the A1018, Hendon Road, with a fairly long straight up to turns 7 and 8, and quick left-right sweeper with the latter opening out onto another straight. It's at this point that sector two ends, with the final sector remaining.

The third sector begins on the exit of turn 8, still on the A1018, though the track would straight-line the roundabout, as it becomes Sans Street. A short straight then leads into the long, long turn 9 as the road becomes West Wear Street, and it's then followed by a long straight onto the A183, St Mary's Way before the tighter turns 10 and 11 onto Livingstone Road. This is a right-left complex as the lap nears completion, with turn 11 flowing into the final corner, the left-handed turn 12, which brings the track back onto St Michaels Way.

There'd need to be a few traffic islands and that one roundabout taken out, but otherwise nothing too major! :D

Triangular shaped circuit, with some chicanes and a start hairpin.

I like it personally.

So many comments I want to make! but I'll hold back until after the end of voting so as not to influence anything. All I'll say is, nobody has gone right past my house yet, but one member has got pretty close, while one of the tracks is almost, but not exactly, the same as what my entry would have been.

Classic Silverstone style circuit, except anti-clockwise. The chicane at the start being the best overtaking spot, as it is heavy braking.

I'm not sure how well i'm going to do.

Hmm...that looks familiar.

Here's my effort, with lots of sweeping corners: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=5661853

The pit complex would be situated around the start//finish marker (as there's pretty much nothing there at the moment). Oh, and of course it's clockwise.

I'm pretty sure it's legal. Not being familiar with UK road names, it wook me a while to work out where the boundaries were.

Start/finish line is the black dot that goes through the parking lot, and the pitlane is the actual road that encircles the stadium and become Millenium Way at the roundabout. Sector 1 takes a hard right and follows a winding curve at Easington Street, going under the railway bridge. Then it's through a nice chicane (Imagine that traffic island isn't there) onto A1018, which would be the first DRS zone. Then it's a simple turn onto Church Street, then another, bigger chicane that leads to Fulwell Road. Fulwell becomes Portobello Lane which begins Sector 2, and a left-right complex of turns puts you on Newcastle Road. Then it's into the neighborhood, Newbold Avenue specifically, which would be the second DRS zone. After a chicane onto Branston Street, it's another left-hander onto Carley Road, which (After construction) would turn right onto Southwick Road. Mind the roundabout on this stretch before turning left onto Church bank, which begins Sector 3. That turns onto Northern Way, followed by a sweeping left-hander onto A1290, where the cars can almost go full-out. Finally, follow the roundabout to Stadium Way, around the stadium itself, and across start/finish.

The original concept I had in mind was way too short for a track, but I felt like if it was lengthened it would be ruined. Oh well, this works. You'd have to demolish a few roundabouts and connect some roads, but it could be doable.
...in bed.

I haven't looked at anybody else's route so apologies if it resembles anybody else's track. It (my track) is very close to the 4.5 mile limit, but just within.

Anyway, I'm going to be really self-indulgent (and, it must be said, dull) for my next theme and ask you to come up with a street circuit in my own home city of Sunderland. Just to be clear on boundaries, we are using the town of Sunderland not the official 'City of Sunderland' which includes Washington, Houghton-le-Spring, Hetton-le-Hole etc. - ie your circuit must be between the A19 and the sea, north of Seaham and south of a horizontal straight line between the A19/A184 roundabout and the sea. There's no minimum length requirement but I'm going to set a maximum of 4.5 miles (just over 7km) so that nobody goes absolutely crazy.

I have to say I'm looking forward to seeing what you all come up with (I also know where I would put my own entry if I was allowed to enter!).

Deadline has already passed so you can't create a track anymore, but you can still vote on the two best and two worst tracks. Once the voting is over, the winner of the vote will post the rules for the next track, and then you can create your own track as well.

Yeah, my third round win!

Okay, for your next challenge ... The Revenge of the NIMBYs!

The unthinkable has happened - unhappy with the noise, residents have successfully had Spa-Francorchamps shut down for good. The circuit can never be used for motor racing ever again. Spa now faces the same fate as the old Hockenheim loop: to be reclaimed by nature.

But there is hope. While Formula 1 cannot use Spa anymore, a group of enterprising circuit designers - you lot - have realied that the courts have only banned racing from taking place on the existing circuit. The injunctions say nothing about racing on the old circuit.

So, here is your design briefing:

1) You must build a circuit using the old loop of the circuit. You may use as much or as little as you like, but you may not use anything from the current circuit.
2) Your circuit must be no shorter than 3.500km and no longer than 7.004km (the length of the current circuit).
3) You may add whatever roads you need to complete a loop of the circuit. You should avoid destroying homes or existing buildings where possible.

Aaaaaannnnddd ... go! Avenge Spa!
