Round 7 - KnockhillSame lineup as before only with a total grid number of 18.
Qualifying
For the first time since Silverstone Hughes is not on pole, instead this goes to Hairuman, the Malaysian's second class pole of the season.
15. 15 Fariqe Hairuman +1.656
16. 17 John George +2.121
17. 77 Jason Hughes +2.191
18. 40 Richard Marsh +3.335
Race 1
But its Hughes that takes his tenth class win of the season while Hairuman is the only retirement. In fact Hughes very nearly takes tenth overall and the reverse grid pole for the second race, very nearly beating the dawdling Jason Plato who was attempting to not beat Matt Neal and Rob Collard both employing the same strategy to try and take the reverse grid pole.
11. 77 Jason Hughes +43.296 (15)
12. 17 John George +50.961 (12)
14. 40 Richard Marsh +1 lap (10)
Ret 15 Fariqe Hairuman
Race 2
Hughes does get an overall point this time for 10th while taking his 11th class win. A late safety car means that he's within ten seconds of the overall winner. Everyone in the class finishes.
10. 77 Jason Hughes +8.174 (15)
12. 15 Fariqe Hairuman +17.088 (12)
13. 17 John George +17.823 (10)
14. 40 Richard Marsh +1 lap (8)
Race 3
Once again, Hairuman is the only retirement. Despite all the excitement at the very front it was an uneventful race for the amateurs with Hughes completing his second hatrick weekend of the season.
12. 77 Jason Hughes +29.487 (15)
13. 17 John George +47.728 (12)
14. 40 Richard Marsh +1 lap (10)
Ret Fariqe Hairuman
Points
1. Jason Hughes 228 (12)
2. Fariqe Hairuman 152 (4)
3. Richard Marsh 113 (1)
4. John George 106 (2)
5. Paul Wallace 27 (1)
Hughes has a slim chance of securing the title after the next round at Brands Hatch. Given Hairuman's recent finishing record, it is more plausible than it seems. The battle for third is hotting up between Marsh and George, both are also fighting to not have to hold the wooden spoon each race.
