Arrows on the other hand are looking for competitive drivers to return on the top. Money is not an issue (well a salary like Lauda's we believe is not worth it). Actually I was going to offer a contract to Hunt, but I believe he is not available in 1980 (in RL he retired).

I looked at available drivers and chose the ones I believe would bring success to Arrows. As a matter of fact I added Senna just because I wanted to use him in future, so I can reserve him in a way.

Considering he would've won the title had he not crashed in Canada, I think that this is pretty clearly not the case. And I doubt that Hunt will retire here this early, considering he's just reclaimed his status as WDC and his real-life retirement was heavily influenced by Ronnie Peterson's fatal crash.

Well, at least we get a decent Tier 1 sponsor. This is going to be a tough year for Arrows. Still, we do not surrender and our aim is still being a top team and battling for championships.

Penske not competing in 1980?

There are some hot rumours coming from the United States: Penske Racing, who haven't found a main sponsor yet, are considering to shut down their F1 operations, preferring to focus on their activites in the newly-formed CART series and the NASCAR Winston Cup. Roger Penske has declined to comment, but reports say that Emerson Fittipaldi and Mario Andretti have already been released by the team. Some sources close to the team say that unless Penske receive someone else's backing, the team will definitely pull out of F1, because Mr. Penske refuses to pay for F1 out of his own pocket.

But since we haven't received an official release yet, nothing certain can be said, so one should take these rumours with a grain of salt.

Kevin Cogan to drive for Penske?

Californian race driver Kevin Cogan has been looking for a F1 seat in a long time and his search may be finally over. Bringing a pack of sponsors with him, this young man seems to have attract the attention of team owner Roger Penske. Penske's outfit hasn't found a main sponsor for 1980 yet, so they're looking for any additional income. This is where Cogan and his sponsors may step in. So far, nothing has been confirmed yet and it all depends on Penske hanging on for 1980.
