Even more annoying was Gow's defense on the btcc.net forum when accused of biased, declaring it nonsense and completely ignoring that fact that he's allowed Plato to get away with murder for years, then gets on his soapbox and claims the accusation to be offensive to the officials and stewards. In short GO HOME GOW!!!

This whole nonsense is totally pissing me off and seriously putting me off BTCC. Honestly, WTCC has been a joke for years, F1 is going rapidly down the pan, and now the mini-Bernie (for that's what he is these days, he's been in power for far too long and it's having the same effect) is losing the plot. What will I have left to watch?
Formula E I guess...that's started off ridiculous, it can't get any more so!

The Civic Tourer has probably not been the best car this year, although it was clearly competitive up until Rockingham when mysteriously (ie through blatant cheating by Gow and his friends) it's been nowhere near the pace since. It comes to something when clearly abysmal drivers like Marc Hynes, Warren Scott and Jack Clarke are getting the better of Shedden and Neal. Also, at Silverstone it was apparently OK for the rest of the field to knock them from pillar to post. Clarke had a bloody cheek to try to blame Collard's accident on Shedden on live TV.
As usual, Plato gets up to his usual tricks, bashing Turkington twice into a corner and therefore getting Giovanardi innocently shoved out of the way in the process. I just don't get it, do they want the MGs to win because they're British cars or something? If so, someone should point out that they are utterly terrible cars.

It should be pointed out that although I'm a Team Dynamics fan more than a Pirtek Team fan, the blatant cheating has clearly affected Jordan too (though not Depper, as he's been laughable all season) and I sincerely hope that it won't affect the overall result of Turkington winning the title as he's driven the backside off the BMW this season and deserves it.

I feel the need to point out that MG are not even British any more; they are Chinese. MG used to stand for Morgan Garages. According to the Chinese, it now means Modern Gentleman... I'll be happy with Turkington's eventual championship success this season.

Not quite Baker, it was Morris Garages.

Like the Chinese takeover or not (and I agree it's not not exactly great), it's kept people in jobs in Birmingham and secured the future of an iconic brand. Yes it's nothing like the original MG, but considering the fact that by the mid 00s it had been mis-used by its various owners for at least 20 years, it's hardly a new departure to have the Chinese use it in this way.

I mean this was often about as good as it got! Re-badged crap!

I think it's great that they've committed to the BTCC for three years now with a proper programme and are giving the UK market a real go. Better than just letting it slide into oblivion like the rest of the British car industry. The fact it's taken the Chinese to keep it going rather than anyone in Britain just shows how much Tony Blair's New Labour valued it's own voters and shows just how much businessmen and entrepreneurs in this country cared about the manufacturing sector. What crying shame that turned out to be only a few years later when Cameron started going on about needing manufacturing to help the economy out!

Of course it is. Just getting confused with those three- and four-wheelers that my dad likes...

Meanwhile, in WTCC, it has been announced the format for the Nordschleife round of next year's champioship.

Great race for Lada. At least that's one thing to cheer up the mood.
That makes me even more impatient for the next season and Lada Vesta.
If they can make it work with a tiny Granta, who knows what might become of a much bigger sedan? :)

Wonder what Lukoil brand managers will be thinking now as they ditched Lada sponsorship a week ago with immediate effect.
Great achievement by Rob Huff. Shows just how talented that guy is and that he can win races with every dog of a car. Particularly seen last year in Macao.

That's not bad. Even though as they're crossing the line, you can't quite see the front of one of the cars, you can tell that it was a mightily close finish. Thanks for sharing that.

So Loeb takes out Muller and pretty much gifts the title to Lopez?

I'm happy, because if there's one driver I despise more than Jason Plato, it's Yvan Muller. What would be even better is if Muller ragequits Citroen now.

BTCC finale today, and it looks like Turks will wrap up the title in race 1, even with PLATOWINSLOL running wild at the front. I'm OK with this.

Colin Turkington is the 2014 BTCC champion! Massively deserved, he's been driving like a demon the entire season.

ROTR has to be Gordon Shedden, refusing to give Gio any space going into Paddock Hill at the start, gets himself spun, and ends up causing a multi-car pile-up. I used to support him, but he's becoming more like Plato every bloody race. :x

So many damaged cars in that race. :|

Plato's been given a 10 second post race penalty and has been sent to the back of the grid for Race 3. This means Adam Morgan inherits the win, which is his first BTCC win. Considering he nearly won the race on merit, I'm sure he'd rather have done it that way instead of having it handed to him.

But no matter, this means we've got 11 different winners this season. Maybe a 12th in the last race of the year? The first three drivers on the grid for the race have never won a BTCC race...

Meanwhile, Alan Gow's threatening to dick over WSR and RAR next season

Why doesn't he understand the reason WSR cleaned up this year is because Turks is a world class driver. Last season, the BMW was brand new and pretty awful for most of the season, yet Turks almost won the championship with it. Why is such a surprise to Gow that Turks would dominate in a sorted car? Rob Collard's a decent hand behind the wheel, and he was nowhere for most of 2013.

Might seem obvious but I'm calling a Jordan/Tordoff line-up for Infiniti next year. Jordan with his Red Bull links and Tordoff thanks to his re-tweets.

Seeing as it's being promoted officially, will we have three manufacturer teams next season? That would be sweet. The brilliant thing is, two of the three are fairly niche players when it comes to the British car industry. How often do you see an MG or Infiniti being driven around? So much for being about your average family hatchback/saloon!

Whilst it's great to have another manufacturer in the BTCC, and it's for a great cause, that driving line-up isn't...brilliant, if I'm honest. I've never heard of either driver until this morning... :|

In Autosport's article, they name Derek Palmer (team owner) and Richard Hawkin as drivers, neither of whom I have heard of before. And it'll be known as the Infiniti Support Our Paras Racing team, and will employing injured paratroopers to work for the team (I am now suddenly a fan of the team for that). I suppose it is similar to what Race2Recovery aims to achieve on the Dakar Rally?

After nosing around a bit on Google, what I have determined is that one driver is the son of the team boss (always a great idea *cough* Graham Rahal *cough*), and doesn't appear to have raced since 2010, and the other is moving up from club racing, and is a pay driver.

I mean, it's great that they're supporting injured paratroopers, and I hope it works out, but they won't be accomplishing much with that driver lineup.
