Totally forgot about this alternative championship with the one I'm currently doing (indeed I'm now further on than you :)), but this one should look a lot different to mine and Bleu's with that 1990 result. 1991 should be Patrese's, and I'm predicting Alesi will win in 1994 - that year could be anyone's without Schumacher, Hill (who should easily win '92 and '93) and Berger, but in my mind there were quite a few occasions Alesi shared the podium with Schumacher and Hill (though would those have been in '95 instead?).

de Cesaris will be left without win. Monaco 1994 will be his best after this but Brundle wins that. France same year, Frentzen and Martini will be ahead.

Can't believe Hakkinen wins a '92 race but Alesi doesn't! (Alesi is out by now in the other alternative championships!)

'93 is a foregone conclusion, but can't wait for '94!!

Herbert's going to miss out on this one completely......the only other knock-on effect now Coulthard has won 1995 will be that Hakkinen has to wait until his real championship of 1998 for his championship in this format - apart from that, I believe it takes until 2006 for there to be a possible change (Massa shades Fisi on wins), which means, like the one I did for 2010 points, that Kubica wins 2008, and possibly Webber beats Vettel in 2009, but the other Red Bull driver will win this year VERY easily!!

Rubens must get a ridiculous amount of wins in 2000 with no Schumacher and no McLarens.....

I suspect the next close one will be 2006!

Bumping this thread, not to announce the results for 2000, but to announce that this thread will soon be resurrected as soon as I finish 1999 for the Johnny Claes Cup.

Stay tuned!

Just realised poor old Mika Salo hasn't yet won a race yet and he gave away Hockenheim '99 to Irvine for another win he didn't really need.......think Barrichello will win every race Salo scored points in in 2000 in real life, and in 2002 Brazil Button should win that. Ouch.

I was actually wondering if JPM could have beaten Ralf on wins alone, as his poor finishing record won't have been as significant here.

Button gets a win in nightmare year of 2001 how exactly? (and it's also his first) :)

(It can't be Hockenheim where he scored his only real-life points as Ralf won that one!)

That freak win was at Monaco. In real life, here were the top 6.
1. Michael Schumacher (won in 1992)
2. Rubens Barrichello (won in 2000)
3. Eddie Irvine (won in 1999)
4. Jacques Villeneuve (won in 1996)
5. David Coulthard (won in 1995)
6. Jean Alesi (won in 1994)
Button was seventh.

Nice!

Something like that could actually happen this year with all top 3 teams, Schumacher and Barrichello eliminated! (I'm presuming the winners from 2002 - 2010 are the same or very similar to the one Bleu already did!!) :)

I'd always thought it was close-ish between BAR and Renault in 2004. Not by this evidence it seems! :)

Alonso must win a scary amount of races in 2005 though......

First podium for Narain Karthikeyan.
Unrejectification and first podium for Christijan Albers.
Unrejectification for Patrick Friesacher.
Unrejectification for Vitantonio Liuzzi.
First points for Robert Doornbos.
Fernando Alonso did win a scary amount of races, tying Barrichello's record from 2000. However, all his other podiums meant he scored more points than Rubens, and the Spaniard also beat Button's 2004 record for the greatest amount of points scored with 155.

First points, unrejectification and first podium for Christian Klien.
First points for Yuji Ide.
First points for Franck Montagny.
Had Albers and Monteiro not been unrejectified the year before, they definitely were this season, each scoring one fourth as best result. Albers' tally in the first half of the season alone was enough to unrejectify the whole Midland team before the mid-season buyout by Spyker. Spyker themselves are still rejects, with five points in the pre-2003 system, as are Super Aguri, who also have five points under said system.

With Massa out for 2007, I think the championship may well be over by about the 9th race of the season. ;-)

2008 should be good though!

(BTW, Christian Klien's first podium was in 2004! Did you mean Scott Speed? The thought of him getting a podium is hilarious!!!)

Yes I meant Scott Speed. He got third in Australia. To show that in more detail:
1. Fernando Alonso (2005 champion)
2. Kimi Räikkönen (2003 champion)
3. Ralf Schumacher (2001 champion)
4. Nick Heidfeld - 1st
5. Giancarlo Fisichella - 2nd
6. Jacques Villeneuve (1996 champion)
7. Rubens Barrichello (2000 champion)
8. David Coulthard (1995 champion)
9. Scott Speed - 3rd
10. Jenson Button (2004 champion)

Also, if the championship was done on points, Fisichella would have beaten Massa by three points.

I agree with you, also, that Hamilton will have won the title by race 9. There is no other possibilty, as he wins the first nine races in a 17-race season. I feel a record will be beaten once more, but it all depends on end-of-season pace.

First points for Sakon Yamamoto.
Hamilton tied the record for most wins, but the greater amount of races in 2005 plus his streak of mediocre performances at the end of the season meant he couldn't score more than Alonso in 2005. Lewis scored 146 points.

These podium-getters get funnier by the year.

I always expected Kubica to win this one but not by that much! (Guess most of his wins were in the first half of the season and nobody else was consistent enough to challenge him later on when BMW's competitveness waned)

Correct. Kubica won six races in a row, and everyone else pretty much shot themselves in the foot for the rest of the year.
