Re: Anyone else concerned about 2013?

Vettel win or no Vettel win, 2013 races have not been exciting. I can't think of one I would willing go back and watch again. Canada and Spa produced two of their dullest races in history. 2009 was similar - only Brazil is a race I'd actually actively return to and watch again, but the season story ...

It is also worth noting that Mateschitz is being quoted as saying that the team are no longer going to apply team orders, so ostensibly the two drivers are now free to race each other on track. You have to wonder, though, whether Mateschitz is saying that because he knows that the team has now got ...

Re: F1 To Be Split Between BBC 1 and Sky Sports from 2012

I find it hilarious that all the F1-related blogs and articles with a comment feature on the BBC Sport website are almost unanimously bombarded with comments asking for the BBC to 'come clean' and justify its actions, rather than comments remotely related to the article's content! They really could...

How much does Pointless cost to air, and what significantly more profitable thing would you put in its place? It's 4.30 in the afternoon. That's peak quiz time viewing. And for a quiz, it's not half bad. There are ways to cut costs at the BBC. People know what they are. The management by and large a...

Re: F1 To Be Split Between BBC 1 and Sky Sports from 2012

How much could have been saved by stripping down BBC's F1 coverage? Not flying out a full team to each race, and having the presenting done from a studio in Salford, and cutting the hour long previews from both qualifying and the race down to 15 minutes. These aren't perfect solutions, but they are ...

I won't contribute to the FIA pile-on, so quali rejects have to be Toro Rosso , McLaren and Anyone who did only 1 run in Q1 . McLaren's strategy of sending their drivers out on soft tyres in the rain in Q1 made no sense. Then Hamilton tried to use that same set for the first run in Q3 and failed, an...

Easy. Race Control . First for starting the race behind the safetyh car and keeping it out for four laps when one would have been more than enough. Hamilton's track would be awful to pass on. The braking zone into Casino Square isn't nearly long enough and all the other corners are definitely single file only. Surely the reason old circuits are considered the best is due to natural selection. The best stay, and the worst are quietly dropped and forgotten from memory. I hope the stewards don't mess about with the result, and instead impose grid penalties at the next race if needs be. Yes I agree totally. I reckon with Trulli and Kovalainen Lotus stand a good chance of scraping a point or two in an aberration race. It'd take a start line pile-up or a wet-dry race to make it happen though. I can't see them doing so on merit. Bring it on I say. I want to see Branson in a dress.

Through videogame magic reverse Suzuka's first corner is impossible. It's a blind, tightening, not quite flat-out left-hander where you need to pick out a braking point for the chicane which you can't see, and hitting the brakes makes the car spear straight forwards and off the track entirely. 130R ...
