Re: Anyone else concerned about 2013?
Vettel win or no Vettel win, 2013 races have not been exciting. I can't think of one I would willing go back and watch again. Canada and Spa produced two of their dullest races in history. 2009 was similar - only Brazil is a race I'd actually actively return to and watch again, but the season story ...

It is also worth noting that Mateschitz is being quoted as saying that the team are no longer going to apply team orders, so ostensibly the two drivers are now free to race each other on track. You have to wonder, though, whether Mateschitz is saying that because he knows that the team has now got ...

Re: F1 To Be Split Between BBC 1 and Sky Sports from 2012
I find it hilarious that all the F1-related blogs and articles with a comment feature on the BBC Sport website are almost unanimously bombarded with comments asking for the BBC to 'come clean' and justify its actions, rather than comments remotely related to the article's content! They really could...

How much does Pointless cost to air, and what significantly more profitable thing would you put in its place? It's 4.30 in the afternoon. That's peak quiz time viewing. And for a quiz, it's not half bad. There are ways to cut costs at the BBC. People know what they are. The management by and large a...

Re: F1 To Be Split Between BBC 1 and Sky Sports from 2012
How much could have been saved by stripping down BBC's F1 coverage? Not flying out a full team to each race, and having the presenting done from a studio in Salford, and cutting the hour long previews from both qualifying and the race down to 15 minutes. These aren't perfect solutions, but they are ...

I won't contribute to the FIA pile-on, so quali rejects have to be Toro Rosso , McLaren and Anyone who did only 1 run in Q1 . McLaren's strategy of sending their drivers out on soft tyres in the rain in Q1 made no sense. Then Hamilton tried to use that same set for the first run in Q3 and failed, an...

Easy. Race Control . First for starting the race behind the safetyh car and keeping it out for four laps when one would have been more than enough. Then there's no point telling the drivers to start on full wets then running them behind the safety car for so many laps that the track is ready for int...

Vettel's ridiculous string of good luck was the most improbable thing that happened all weekend. First the Red Flag in quali ensuring no-one could beat his pole time, then the red flag in the race just as things were shaping up to be interesting.

Hamilton . 'Nuff said. However, Alguersuari rams the back of Hamilton after the latter's mouthing off about Toro Rosso drivers' lack of impartiality when it come to being lapped, brings out the red flags, thus ensuring a Vettel victory when another 7 laps and I'm sure Alonso and/or Button would've ...

I'm definitely going for Vettel and Ferrari two-stop strategy. Two-stops wasn't the way to go, and they lost out to people they should have beaten comfortably. I think AndreaModa is referring to things like football and cricket which are pre-dominantly shown on Sky , which you have to pay (I think) 30 pound a month to sign up to, or on ITV where you have simply appalling commentators and pundits. Hamilton's track would be awful to pass on. The braking zone into Casino Square isn't nearly long enough and all the other corners are definitely single file only. Surely the reason old circuits are considered the best is due to natural selection. The best stay, and the worst are quietly dropped and forgotten from memory. Add in the fact that Spa, Suzuka and Silverstone regularly get a dash of rain that livens up any race. Give it ten years and see which Tilke...

I hope the stewards don't mess about with the result, and instead impose grid penalties at the next race if needs be. Yes I agree totally. The time penalty can be between 20 and 30 seconds, and typically in the past has been 25. A 23+ second penalty would see Kobayashi on the podium. Not that I par...

I reckon with Trulli and Kovalainen Lotus stand a good chance of scraping a point or two in an aberration race. It'd take a start line pile-up or a wet-dry race to make it happen though. I can't see them doing so on merit. Bring it on I say. I want to see Branson in a dress.

Almost too much rejectdom to choose from. Through videogame magic reverse Suzuka's first corner is impossible. It's a blind, tightening, not quite flat-out left-hander where you need to pick out a braking point for the chicane which you can't see, and hitting the brakes makes the car spear straight forwards and off the track entirely. 130R ...

I say this on every F1 forum I go on: Oulton Park.
